• selected page count
• saved drafts, story status, and story history

3.Character Information

When you create or customize characters, we may collect:

• character names and pronouns
• skin tone, hair style, and hair color selections
• body type, clothing, and accessories
• hats, glasses, and facial hair selections
• character reference images and generated character images
• other customization information

4.Content You Submit

We may collect content you submit to personalize your story, including:

• photographs
• text and messages
• names and personalization details
• other information you choose to provide

5.Order Information

When you make a purchase, we may collect:

6.Payment Information

Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. StoryGift does not store full payment-card numbers when payment processing is handled by the third-party payment provider.

The payment provider collects and processes payment information according to its own privacy policy.

Depending on how you access StoryGift, our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically collect technical information such as:

• pages viewed and approximate usage information

8.How We Use Information

StoryGift may use information to:

• create personalized stories
• generate personalized illustrations
• customize characters
• save stories and drafts so you can resume unfinished stories
• allow you to reuse saved characters

• fulfill physical books and deliver digital products

9.Saved Stories and Characters

If you choose to save your story or create an account, StoryGift may store your stories, drafts, character configurations, generated images, and related information so you can return to them later.

Saved characters may be reusable across multiple stories where the feature is available. When a character is used in a story, StoryGift keeps the version associated with that story so later edits do not unexpectedly change previously created story content.

10.AI and Image Generation

StoryGift uses third-party artificial intelligence and image-generation services, provided through our hosting platform, to create personalized story text and illustrations.

The information necessary to generate your requested content — such as your answers, character configurations, and reference images — may be transmitted to those providers.

We configure these integrations so that only information reasonably necessary to provide the requested functionality is transmitted. Where third-party AI providers process submitted information, their own terms and privacy policies may also apply.

11.Payment Processors

StoryGift uses a third-party payment processor to process purchases. The payment provider may collect and process payment information according to its own privacy policy.

StoryGift does not store full payment-card information.

12.Printing and Fulfillment

When you purchase a physical book, StoryGift provides necessary order and shipping information to third-party print and fulfillment providers. This may include:

• recipient name
• shipping address
• product information and order identifier
• the personalized book files needed to print your order

Information is only shared to the extent reasonably necessary to manufacture and deliver the product.

13.Emails We May Send

StoryGift may send transactional emails such as:

• save-your-progress confirmations
• account-related messages
• story-ready notifications
• order confirmations and digital delivery notifications
• production and shipping updates
• customer service responses

Marketing emails are treated separately from transactional emails. StoryGift currently sends only transactional and account-related messages. If we introduce marketing emails, we will obtain consent where required and provide an unsubscribe mechanism — and marketing consent is never required to make a purchase.

14.Abandoned Story Reminders

If you save a story or provide an email address, StoryGift may send a limited number of reminders about an unfinished story where permitted.

Such reminders are reasonably limited, stop when the story is completed or purchased, and do not reveal sensitive story information in the email subject or preview text. They contain a link back to your story.

15.Cookies and Similar Technologies

StoryGift and our hosting platform may use cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as:

• authentication and keeping you signed in
• session management
• security and fraud prevention
• remembering your preferences
• core functionality and performance

Our hosting platform may also collect basic usage analytics about how the Services are used. We do not currently use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking technologies. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any required controls.

16.How Information Is Shared

StoryGift may share information with service providers that help operate the Services, including providers for:

• hosting and storage
• authentication
• payment processing
• email delivery
• AI services and image generation
• printing, fulfillment, and shipping
• security

StoryGift may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect users or the public, to prevent fraud, to protect StoryGift's rights, or during a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

StoryGift does not sell personal information for money merely because information is shared with service providers necessary to operate the Services.

17.Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

StoryGift does not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and implement any required opt-out mechanisms.

18.Data Retention

StoryGift may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• provide the Services
• maintain saved stories and accounts
• fulfill orders
• provide customer support
• comply with legal obligations
• resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements

StoryGift uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, and limits access to your saved stories to your own account.

However, no online system can guarantee absolute security. You should protect your account credentials and notify StoryGift if you believe your account has been compromised.

20.Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, which may include rights to:

• access your information
• request correction or deletion
• request information about how data is collected or used
• opt out of certain types of processing
• withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis
• receive information in a portable format

Not every right applies in every jurisdiction, and we do not promise a specific legal right where it may not apply to you.

21.California Privacy Rights

If StoryGift is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act or other California privacy laws, California residents may have additional rights regarding their personal information, which may include rights to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights.

StoryGift will provide applicable rights and request methods required by law. Because StoryGift does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, no separate opt-out mechanism is currently required; if that changes, we will implement the required controls, including honoring recognized opt-out preference signals where required.

22.Children's Privacy

StoryGift is a service for adults creating gifts for the people they love, and is not directed at children. StoryGift is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

If StoryGift becomes aware that it has collected personal information from a child in circumstances where parental consent is legally required but was not obtained, it will take reasonable steps to address the situation.

StoryGift may contain links to third-party websites or services. StoryGift is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. You should review the privacy policies of third-party services before providing information to them.

StoryGift may be accessible to users in multiple countries, and personal information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live.

Where applicable, StoryGift will take reasonable steps required by law concerning international data transfers.
